Introduction by International Experts Phase II | the Belt and Road International Pig Industry Conference

The the Belt and Road International Pig Industry Conference (BRIPIC) co sponsored by Henan Agricultural University relying on the "the Belt and Road" International Pig Industry Science and Technology Innovation Institute will be held in Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center from April 25 to 27, 2024. Now, we will continue to introduce some speakers to you.

Dr. Dirk Udo Pfeiffer

Dr. Pfeiffer obtained a Ph.D. in Veterinary Epidemiology from the University of Macy in New Zealand in 1994. He served as a Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology at the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine, University of London since 1999. From 2015 to 2017, he worked part-time as Chief Epidemiologist at the UK Department of Animal and Plant Health. Dr. Pfeiffer has been a professor at One Health and the director of the One Health Research and Policy Advisory Center at City University of Hong Kong since 2016. In recognition of his outstanding academic and scientific contributions, Dr Pfeiffer was selected by City University of Hong Kong as the "Chow Tak Fung ended Chair Professor" in May 2019, and was awarded the "Calvin W. Schwabe Award" Veterinary Epidemiology Expert Lifetime Achievement Award in July 2021. Dr. Pfeiffer has been engaged in epidemiological research on animal diseases since 1985. His main research areas now include animal drug development, epidemiological analysis, and computer modeling of animal diseases. Dr. Pfeiffer has published 477 SCI papers with an H-Index of 55, and has rich academic achievements in veterinary epidemiology.

Dr. Jishu Shi

Dr. Shi graduated from Kansas State University and currently serves as the Director of the Vaccine Evaluation and Antibiotic Substitutes Center at the School of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University, Director of the US China Animal Health Center, and Professor of Vaccine Immunology. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Dr. Wayne&Hilda Appleton Ended Professor by Kansas State University. Formerly served as an advisor to the Director of the Animal Production and Health Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. My main research focuses on pig infectious disease vaccine adjuvants and novel diagnostic analysis tools. The research focuses on swine fever, African swine fever, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, and other newly emerging porcine viral infectious diseases. More than 70 SCI papers have been published and more than 1700 citations have been cited.

Dr. E. Wayne Johnson

Dr. Johnson obtained a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois in 1980. Since 2012, I have been working at Beijing Enruikang Agricultural Technology Consulting Co., Ltd., serving large and medium-sized domestic breeding and related enterprises. I am committed to helping enterprises improve the health and welfare of pigs, enhance the efficiency of pig farming enterprises, and cultivate qualified veterinary technicians for the industry. Simultaneously devote oneself to researching new theoretical knowledge,

At the same time, devote oneself to researching new theoretical knowledge, improving diagnostic methods, guiding and encouraging young people to devote themselves to the improvement of pig farming technology. Dr. Johnson serves as a consultant for companies such as Shanghai Kasu Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Dabei Agricultural Group, AgroMed, DSM (China) Animal Nutrition Research Center, Zhongshan Tengjun Biotechnology Research Institute, Piexi (China) Hebei Meishen Group, Hunan Tangrenshen Group, Hebei Hantang Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., and Zhonghui Animal Husbandry Pig Breeding Company. Dr. Johnson's work involves various aspects of pig production, including genetics, nutrition, pen keeping, recording various pig conditions, worker training, pig health planning, disease diagnosis, meat quality and marketing, pig farm management, waste disposal, and environmental protection. He has rich experience in pig production.

Dr. Anja Vall ø Kibsgaard

Dr. Kibsgaard graduated from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark with a PhD in Clinical Veterinary Medicine. He entered the pig farming industry in 2007 and worked as a professional pig veterinarian for the well-known European veterinary consulting company Ø - Vet; From 2008 to 2014, worked at the Pig Research Center of the Danish Agriculture and Food Commission; From 2011 to 2015, I operated my own farm and raised 16000 pigs annually; Established the company "Gourmet Pigs from Bukkerupgaard" from 2014 to 2016; From 2017 to 2022, served as the Product Manager at Ceva Animal Health; Since 2022, I have been serving as a veterinary and marketing manager for Ø - Vet pigs. Dr. Kibsgaard has rich experience in pig farming and market operation of live pig products.
