Dr Gaiping Zhang was elected as Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2009. Academician Gaiping Zhang’s research interests include pathogenicity of animal disease, rapid detection technique for major animal disease and food safety, and innovative vaccine development. Academician Gaiping Zhang is a member and convenor of the review group for veterinary discipline of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, advisory expert and head of the expert group of veterinary discipline of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Vice-President of Henan Association of Science and Technology, and council member of Chinese Association of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. He was awarded with the Second price of National Award for Technological Invention; Second price of National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology; National Innovation Award; China Agricultural Talent Award; National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars; National Advanced Personal Honor to Fight against COVID-19, etc.
