His primary research focuses on the etiology, pathogenic mechanisms, and immunological prevention and control technologies of major animal diseases. In recent years, he has presided over the following projects: 1 Youth Program and 1 General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; 1 Sub-project of the 14th Five-Year Plan Key Research and Development Program; 1 Youth Program and 1 General Program of the Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation; 1 Jiangsu Agricultural Science and Technology Independent Innovation Fund Project; 1 Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province; 1 Open Project of the Provincial Key Laboratory for the Prevention and Control of Major Poultry Diseases (e.g., Avian Influenza) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; and 1 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Vice President Project.
As the first or corresponding author, he has published 30 SCI papers in journals such as Journal of Virology, Advanced Healthcare Materials, Frontiers in Immunology, Veterinary Microbiology, Virology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, and Archives of Virology. He also serves as a reviewer for journals including Veterinary Microbiology, BMC Veterinary Research, and Infection Genetics and Evolution. His research achievements have won multiple awards, including the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Jiangsu Agricultural Society Science and Technology Award, Jiangsu Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society Science and Technology Award, Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences Science and Technology Award, and DBN Science and Technology Award.
