Dr. Pfeiffer obtained a Ph.D. in Veterinary Epidemiology from the University of Macy in New Zealand in 1994. He served as a Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology at the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine, University of London since 1999. From 2015 to 2017, he worked part-time as Chief Epidemiologist at the UK Department of Animal and Plant Health. Dr. Pfeiffer has been a professor at One Health and the director of the One Health Research and Policy Advisory Center at City University of Hong Kong since 2016. In recognition of his outstanding academic and scientific contributions, Dr Pfeiffer was selected by City University of Hong Kong as the "Chow Tak Fung ended Chair Professor" in May 2019, and was awarded the "Calvin W. Schwabe Award" Veterinary Epidemiology Expert Lifetime Achievement Award in July 2021. Dr. Pfeiffer has been engaged in epidemiological research on animal diseases since 1985. His main research areas now include animal drug development, epidemiological analysis, and computer modeling of animal diseases. Dr. Pfeiffer has published 477 SCI papers with an H-Index of 55, and has rich academic achievements in veterinary epidemiology.
